Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Career Counselor to join our team at Diyar Private Academy, Dibba Boys Campus. The Career Counselor will play a crucial role in supporting and teaching students with a diverse range of emotional, social, or special educational needs. Additionally, the Counselor will provide guidance and support to students who are under-achieving or demonstrate special gifts or talents. The successful candidate will be a member of the Achievement Team, contributing to a multi-disciplinary approach to supporting students who face learning challenges for various reasons, including academic or social/emotional factors. Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address emotional, social, or special educational needs.
Assess students\' abilities, interests, talents, and personality characteristics to guide them in making informed career and educational decisions.
Develop and implement personalized career development plans for students, focusing on academic and career goals.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support students\' holistic development and well-being.
Conduct workshops and seminars to enhance students\' skills in areas such as study habits, time management, and decision-making.
Administer and interpret career assessment tools and instruments to assist students in understanding their strengths and interests.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress.
Stay informed about trends and developments in the field of career counseling and incorporate best practices into counseling approaches.
Participate in professional development activities and training to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.
Contribute to the overall mission and goals of the school by actively engaging in school-wide initiatives and events.
Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
Proven experience in counseling, preferably in an educational setting.
Certification or licensure in counseling or a related field is desirable.
Strong understanding of career development theories and practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Empathy, patience, and sensitivity to the diverse needs of students.
Organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Knowledge of assessment tools and techniques used in career counseling.
Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning in the field of counseling.
Reporting Structure: The Career Counselor will report directly to the Head of Counseling Department at Diyar Private Academy Dibba Early Years & Girls. Additionally, they will collaborate closely with the school leadership team and other staff members to ensure alignment with the school\'s goals and objectives.
