School CounsellorThe British International School Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint an outstanding School Counsellor to join a well-established, supportive team in a highly successful and expanding school.The closing date for applications is 28th February 2025. The start date for this position is May 2025.We are looking for a driven personality who will advocate, manage, and commit in improving the lives of young people in need of help and support in the school. As a qualified School Counsellor, you will thrive in the role combining day-to-day social services activities, undertaking and writing up assessments, offering information and counselling support to pupils and their families, maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for relevant legislation and procedures.You will be an excellent communicator, who gets on well with colleagues, students and parents. Amongst other things, you will be well organised and want to participate fully in the extra-curricular aspects of school life. The staff work co-operatively and enjoy collaborating, therefore good interpersonal skills and team work are essential.You will be keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students.The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience;
University Degree holder with specialisations in Psychology and Social Work
Experience of not less than 2 years within the same field
Exceptional communication skills
In depth experience in School counselling and social services activities
Excellent proven record of working with young people, families and health care specialists
Knowledge of the current English National Curriculum and associated assessment methods will be desirable
