The School Bus Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their commute to and from school. The attendant assists the bus driver in managing student behavior, ensuring that all students are properly seated and following safety protocols, and helping students with special needs.Key Responsibilities:
Student Supervision:Monitor students on the bus to ensure they are seated properly and behaving appropriately.
Address any inappropriate behavior following school policies and guidelines.
Assist in ensuring students enter and exit the bus safely.
Safety Management:Ensure all students are wearing seat belts where applicable.
Assist in the loading and unloading of students, especially those with disabilities or special needs.
Conduct headcounts before and after each trip to ensure all students are accounted for.
Communication:Communicate effectively with the bus driver regarding any issues or incidents on the bus.
Act as a liaison between the school administration, parents, and the bus driver when necessary.
Report any safety concerns or student-related issues to the appropriate school personnel.
Emergency Preparedness:Be familiar with the bus\'s emergency procedures and equipment.
Assist in conducting emergency drills and ensuring students are aware of safety protocols.
Provide assistance in case of an emergency, including first aid if trained and necessary.
