Job Description

: Responsible for developing and/or implementing Manufacturing Execution Systems and Upstream Applications, Collaborate with business units in Operations, Development and HSE division by gathering their requirements, automating their business processes and by supporting their systems. Manages the assigned IT projects throughout their life cycle, from inception to closeout. Translate the business processes into software functionalities. Designs and documents work flow. Evaluates off the shelf products to identify and evaluates making sure it meets business requirements, Deliver the appropriate solutions to the business units and advises them on new technologies and products that add value to the business.
Deliver software solutions related to Manufacturing Execution Systems, Upstream applications and HSE
systems,
Provide application support and troubleshooting in the assigned area.
Implement the assigned applications assigned from those in the IT FEED or others assigned by the
Department Manager or the Team Leader,
Areas of focus include: Asset Integrity, Asset Health Monitoring, Production Accounting, Real Time
Applications, Performance Monitoring, etc,
Liaise with SAP and Automation teams to appropriately integrate the various systems, Develops and supports interfaces among the IT systems and to ensure integration of Client's business processes, within the assigned area, especially with SAP and the Automation Systems.
Participates in planning and conducting studies and assessments in acquiring or developing new applications and systems within the assigned area, or in enhancing the existing ones. Adheres to the IT projects management best practices and related Project Management Framework used in Al-Hosn, in implementing new applications/systems or enhancing existing ones.
Performs system testing of new releases and implements new releases in coordination with system analysts and business users.
Responsible for the support and maintenance of the assigned systems and ensures the delivery of appropriate training to the users.
Supervises the engineers reporting to him/her in performing their tasks.
Contributes toward and promotes the protection of the Client IT assets and corporate information against threats to their security by implementing the Information Security Policy and all
( other related rules, regulations and guidelines.
Conducts presentations and training programs to end users on the newly implemented systems and
services.
Maintains the security of application software and data, and coordinates with the Company s IT
infrastructure team to plan, implement and update system related procedures for IT disaster recovery.
liaises with software vendors on a regular basis to stay up-to-date with new developments, new product offerings, modules, etc. Evaluates them against Company business requirements and provides recommendations for implementation.
Work closely with the application vendors to troubleshoot and resolve systems issues, to apply patches and updates, to monitor the systems performance and sustain their availability.
Train, coach and mentor IT Staff (especially to the UAE Nationals) with a special emphasis on job training.
Ensures Company Health, Safety and Environment policy is effectively factored into implemented systems.
Keeps abreast with new technology in areas relating to systems development and deployment, engineering and technical systems, databases and web technologies.
Carries other related duties assigned the department manager or the team leader.
