Salon Assistant

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Salon Cleaner/Helper to ensure the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall tidiness of our salon. The Salon Cleaner/Helper plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and inviting environment for our clients and staff. The ideal candidate should take pride in their work, possess a strong work ethic, and contribute to the overall positive experience of our salon visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Sanitization:

Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming salon floors to maintain a clean and safe environment. Clean and sanitize salon equipment, tools, stations, and treatment areas according to established protocols and standards. Disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as door handles, reception desk, waiting area, and restrooms, on a regular basis.

Waste Management:

Empty trash bins, dispose of waste, and replace liners as needed throughout the salon. Ensure proper separation and disposal of recyclable and non-recyclable materials.

Restroom Maintenance:

Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and counters, to maintain a hygienic environment. Restock restroom supplies, such as hand soap, paper towels, and toilet paper, as necessary.

Assistance and Support:

Assist salon staff with setup and cleanup before and after appointments, ensuring treatment rooms and stations are ready for clients. Support the front desk by organizing retail shelves, displaying products, and maintaining an orderly retail area.

Hygiene Standards:

Adhere to established health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized storage area for cleaning supplies and equipment.

Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with salon management and staff to address cleaning and maintenance needs in a timely manner. Collaborate with other team members to create a seamless and enjoyable experience for clients.

Qualifications and Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience (2 years) in janitorial, custodial, or cleaning roles, preferably within a salon, spa, or similar environment. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, sanitation, and use of cleaning products. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly workspace. Ability to work independently and efficiently while following established cleaning schedules. Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on salon needs.
