1. Job Summary:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth within the Events Division by developing and executing effective sales strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of the events industry, client relationship building, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets. The ideal candidate will have experience selling event management services, sponsorships, or venue solutions to businesses across various industries.
2. Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development:
a) Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the target market (e.g., corporate clients, government entities, associations, event agencies).
b) Develop and maintain strong client relationships, building trust and long-term partnerships.
c) Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new market segments and opportunities.
d) Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to potential clients.
e) Negotiate contracts and close deals effectively.
2. Sales Management:
a) Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to achieve revenue targets.
b) Monitor and analyze sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and adjust strategies accordingly.
c) Manage the sales pipeline and forecast future sales accurately.
d) Provide regular sales reports and updates to management.
e) Train and mentor junior sales team members (if applicable).
3. Client Management:
a) Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by proactively addressing client needs and concerns.
b) Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within client organizations.
c) Identify and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing client accounts.
4. Industry Knowledge:
a) Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and competitor activities.
b) Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and build relationships.
3. Required Skills & Experience:
• Proven track record of success in sales, particularly within the events industry (corporate events, exhibitions, conferences, brand activations, etc.).
• Strong understanding of event planning, production, sponsorship sales, and venue management.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong negotiation and closing skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in sales and business development within the events sector.
4. Desired Skills:
• Experience in managing a sales team.
• Experience with sponsorship sales and partnership development.
• Strong project management skills.
