Sales Area Manager (FMCG)
responsible for overseeing the sales operations within a designated geographical area in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, managing a team of sales representatives, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the FMCG market, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
# Sales Strategy Development:
-Develop and implement effective sales strategies and action plans to achieve sales targets and drive market penetration.
-Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
-Team Management:
-Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team to ensure optimal performance.
-Set clear performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
# Relationship Management:
-Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and retailers to enhance brand presence and loyalty.
-Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align sales strategies with promotional activities.
# Sales Performance Monitoring:
-Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics and adjust strategies as necessary to meet or exceed targets.
-Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for senior management.
# Budget Management:
-Manage the sales budget for the area, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
-Optimize trade spend and promotional budgets to maximize ROI.
# Market Research:
-Conduct market research to understand customer needs and preferences, and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
-Stay informed about industry trends, new products, and competitive landscape.
# Cross-Functional Collaboration:
-Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, and finance teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery to customers.
-Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns that drive sales.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
Experience:
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management within the FMCG industry, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
-Experience in managing a sales team and developing sales strategies.
Skills:
