The American Red Cross is hiring a SAF/IS Outreach Coordinator, Wounded Warrior Project in Bahrain which follows a Sunday to Thursday work week. The OC position is often a duty hour (8-16:30) schedule, though events/activities may be scheduled after hours, on weekends, or on holidays.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW The SAF Outreach Coordinator assists in the delivery of American Red Cross services to members of the United States military and their families assigned to military installations worldwide. The Outreach Coordinator provides high-quality service to customers and clients consistent with Service to the Armed Forces and American Red Cross standards and will conduct joint outreach activities and events in support of the American Red Cross and Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) partnership within the European, CENTCOM and Asia Pacific Theater and deployment locations. Relationship Management and Community Outreach: Serves as the face of the American Red Cross at assigned location (NSA Bahrain). Job responsibilities may include: Establish and maintain effective command relationships. Utilize Contact Cards to identify NSA Bahrain/Isa Air Base sponsor presence. Brief on Service to the Armed Forced (SAF) Hero Care Center services and assists with referrals (by request) to Subject Matter Experts (SME) regarding Emergency Communication Messages (ECM). Volunteer recruitment and managing community placements/hours (through Volunteer Connection). Manage Training Services (CPR, First Aid, and AED; Basic Life Saving (BLS); and Babysitter Training) by recruiting and managing qualified trainers and advertising course availability to the local base community. Disaster Preparedness - collaborate with installation Emergency Management Office (EMO) personnel, specifically with Non-combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO) and High Heat Preparedness campaigns. Youth Action Campaign (YAC) and Pedro Project.
NOTE: Local travel between US military bases, to include NSA I, NSA II, and Isa Air Base, required. Candidate must be eligible to obtain vehicle/access passes for all installations.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD . Network, develop and maintain relationships in local community, including Military Treatment Facility (MTF) commands and other local veteran organizations. . Expand outreach (partnership awareness) across installations within theater of responsibility, to include speaking opportunities and distribution of program materials. . Plan, coordinate and execute regularly scheduled engagement and holiday events for ill/injured/wounded service members and veteran, and caregiver staff at Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs). . Work closely with WWP to identify and enroll eligible service members and veterans into the WWP Alumni Program . Ensure distribution, tracking and reporting of Transitional Care Packages (TCPs) to maximize outreach to ill, injured and wounded service members and victims of SHARP (Sexual Harassment Assault Response Prevention) . Develop and implement engagement activities for ill, injured and wounded service members/veterans . Recruit and maintain a volunteer base to support Outreach Program Manager Partnership awareness and Staff Resiliency: Develop and maintain relationships with local professional military care provider community [Health Clinic, Embedded Mental Health Teams, Expeditionary Flight unit on Isa Air Base, and waterfront IDCs), with briefings and participation in stakeholder meetings. Plan, coordinate, and execute impactful, routine, holiday and special events/activities targeting resiliency for professional care provider population. Submit Activity Logs for every sponsored care provider activity/program. Reports will also be submitted into the Service Delivery Portal (SDP) Reconcile and submit all appropriate Purchase-Card and CONCUR charges for goods and services financially supported for resiliency programming and MTF donation support. Ensure distribution and tracking of Transitional Care Packages (TCP) to maximize outreach to Wounded Warriors, providing monthly reporting. Determine and network resources and events taking place in specified region for professional care provider participation, as well as promoting outreach/awareness, resource development, partnership, speaking opportunities (e.g. AFN), etc. Assist in grassroots efforts and support specific campaigns as needed.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: Education: Bachelor's degree required*. Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Management Experience: N/a Skills & Abilities: May require the ability to obtain a government security clearance. May require fluency in second language. Ability to work on a team. Travel: Travel required up to 25%.
* Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE . Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills, to include comfort with public speaking. . Able to take initiative, multi-task, work well under pressure, and complete required assignments within scheduled deadlines. . Strong computer user skills, to include use of Internet/Intranet and proficiency with Microsoft Office package applications (WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT, etc.) required. . Prior experience with American Red Cross programs and services are desired. . Familiarity with military culture, regulations and protocol is desired. . NOTE: This position is NOT supported with a relocation allowance. Ideal candidate will be local and have Bahrain base access.
