Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate extensive safety across the organization by implementing and monitoring safety measures.
2. Identify and assess hazards, risks, and control measures for specific operations or processes in the assigned area.
3. Prepare and review risk assessments, communicate them to relevant parties, and enforce preventive measures.
4. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and audits, communicate identified hazards and precautionary measures, and maintain records.
5. Review the adequacy and validity of safety and competency training certificates for operatives and equipment inspection, testing, and calibration certifications.
6. Coordinate with production managers and supervising staff for implementing permits to work system and to identify and resolve safety -related issues.
7. Provide training and guidance to employees on safety procedures, practices, and equipment operation.
8. Support the Safety Manager in developing and implementing effective safety strategies, policies, and practices across all company departments.
9. Conduct regular safety training sessions and workshops for employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper use of safety equipment and ensure training records are maintained.
10. Coordinate with external agencies, such as fire departments and regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance and effective emergency response capabilities.
11. Oversee the maintenance and inspection of safety equipment and systems, such as fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, and emergency alarms.
12. Provide guidance and support to department managers and supervisors regarding safety-related matters, ensuring their compliance with safety protocols.
13. Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and develop solutions for prevention.
14. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, identify areas of improvement, and recommend corrective actions.
15. Investigate any accidents or incidents to determine their causes and prevent recurrence. Ensure all accidents are reported and recorded correctly, according to company policy, and recommend improvements.
16. Observe HSE regulations, ensure correct personal protective equipment is worn, encourage safe working practices, and address hazards immediately.
17. Effectively communicate safety guidelines, policies, and updates to all levels of the organization.
18. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Qualifications
Education level: A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or its equivalent is required. Additional certifications in safety management will be advantageous.
Experience: More than 3 years of experience in the capacity of Safety Officer at manufacturing, knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards, and experience in developing and implementing safety programs and procedures in a manufacturing environment. Good knowledge in the Fire suppression system of the facility.
Specific skills: Strong analytical, hazards identification, excellent communication and skills to train employees and team player. Ability to collaborate with production managers, supervisors, and employees to achieve goals.
Certifications. Safety Certifications from recognized safety organizations, including ISO 45001 lead auditor.
Licenses: Preference will be given to candidates holding UAE driving License.
