As a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer at Gulf Water Treatment Co. Ltd., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of our workforce, clients, and the environment. This position demands a dedicated and detail-oriented professional who will lead the development and implementation of robust HSE programs, policies, and practices. The HSE Officer will collaborate closely with various teams to promote a safety-conscious culture and drive continuous improvement in our operational practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HSE Program Development:
Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive HSE programs that align with local regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
2. Training and Education:
Provide HSE training programs to employees, emphasizing safety protocols, emergency procedures, and best practices.
Ensure that all employees are aware of and adhere to safety guidelines.
3. Incident Investigation and Reporting:
Lead investigations into accidents, near misses, and other safety-related incidents.
Prepare detailed incident reports, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
4. Compliance:
Stay informed about relevant HSE regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws.
Collaborate with regulatory agencies and conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to standards.
5. Emergency Response Planning:
Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and crisis management protocols.
Conduct regular drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response plans.
6. Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into daily operations.
Collaborate with external partners, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure a holistic approach to safety.
7. Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in HSE practices.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging teams to actively contribute to safety enhancements.
8. Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE documentation, including records of training, audits, and incident reports.
Ensure compliance with documentation requirements and industry standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Professional certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is advantageous.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HSE management, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Hands-on experience in incident investigation and emergency response planning.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong understanding of HSE regulations and best practices.
Excellent communication and training skills.
