Position: Safety Officer


Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in(UAE) similar industries (Steel Plants, Chemical Manufacturing Plants) with a solid understanding of UAE safety regulations.

Qualification:



BE in HSE / BSc. Chemistry / Diploma / Graduate in a related field Professional Certifications: NEBOSH, OSHA, Fire & Safety Language Skills: English & Hindi

The

Safety Officer

will be responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment by promoting health and safety standards and practices across the workplace. This role involves regular monitoring, risk assessment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations to prevent accidents, injuries, and operational losses.

Key Responsibilities:



Risk Assessment:

Carry out risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards in the workplace.

HSE Standards Compliance:

Ensure adherence to HSE standards and promote safety policies.

Chemical Plant Expertise:

Familiarity with hazard reports, feasibility reports, and fire drill safety operations in chemical plants.

Safe Operational Procedures:

Develop and implement safe operational procedures, addressing all relevant hazards.

Site Inspections:

Conduct regular inspections to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed properly.

Workplace Changes:

Recommend and implement changes to working practices to enhance safety and comply with legislation.

Health and Safety Strategies:

Prepare and develop internal policies and health and safety strategies.

Training & Development:

Lead in-house training on health and safety issues for both managers and employees.

Reporting:

Maintain records of inspection findings and incidents, and create reports to suggest improvements.

Incident Recording:

Maintain and analyze records of accidents and incidents, providing statistical reports to management.

Legislative Awareness:

Stay up-to-date with new legislation and its impact on industry standards.

Safety Equipment & Installation:

Ensure safe installation of equipment and manage the safe disposal of hazardous substances (e.g., asbestos).

Specialist Advice:

Advise on fire regulations, noise control, hazardous substances, machinery safety, and occupational diseases.

Compliance and Safety Checks:

Regularly inspect machinery, safety equipment, and facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Accident Investigation:

Investigate accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and recommend preventive measures.

Employee Safety Programs:

Review the adequacy of employee safety programs and provide recommendations for improvement.

Health & Safety Testing:

Conduct air quality, noise, temperature, and radiation tests to ensure regulatory compliance.

Collaboration & Coordination:

Work with external agencies (e.g., fire departments, rescue teams) to ensure emergency responses are well-coordinated.

Skills & Knowledge:



Comprehensive knowledge of UAE safety rules and regulations. In-depth experience in industrial safety practices, particularly in steel and chemical plants. Strong ability to assess, evaluate, and recommend improvements for safety operations and processes. Skilled in training staff and maintaining a positive safety culture within the workplace. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and management at all levels. Ability to maintain safety records, prepare detailed reports, and conduct safety audits.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED5,500.00 per month
