The Role

Job Summary:

The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on construction sites. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of UAE safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry. Responsibilities: Safety Program Implementation & Management: o Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive safety management system in compliance with UAE labor laws, Dubai Municipality regulations, and OSHAD requirements. o Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. o Implement and enforce safety procedures related to working at heights, confined spaces, excavation, heavy equipment operation, and electrical safety. o Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies. o Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training. Training & Awareness: o Conduct safety inductions and training sessions for all employees and subcontractors. o Promote a strong safety culture through regular toolbox talks and safety meetings. o Ensure that all personnel are aware of and adhere to safety protocols. o Provide guidance and support to site supervisors and foremen on safety matters. Incident Investigation & Reporting: o Investigate all accidents and incidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. o Prepare detailed incident reports and submit them to relevant authorities and management. o Maintain accurate records of all incidents and near misses. Compliance & Documentation: o Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and standards. o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in safety regulations and best practices. o Prepare and submit required safety reports and documentation. o Maintain all required documentation related to safety, including but not limited to, method statements, risk assessments, and permits to work. Emergency Response: o Develop and implement emergency response plans. o Conduct regular emergency drills and exercises. o Ensure that first aid and emergency equipment are readily available and properly maintained. Liaison: o Act as a point of contact for all safety-related matters. o Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and subcontractors on safety issues. Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

o Bachelor's degree or Diploma in a related field. o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry in the UAE. o Strong knowledge of UAE labor laws, Dubai Municipality regulations, and OSHAD requirements. o NEBOSH IGC or equivalent certification is highly desirable. o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. o Ability to work independently and as part of a team. o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. o Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Arabic language skills are an advantage.
