The Role
Our Multi National Civil Contracting client has a new requirement for a number of experienced Safety Officers to join their team in Abu Dhabi at a prestigious new project in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Safety Officer on major high rise projects in the UAE and have worked in the capacity of Safety Officer for a Main or Civil Contracting company previously. This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed by our client. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the implementation of QHSE procedures, policies and standards that form the Company QHSE Management System, including review and possible revision Attending QHSE Meetings as per Clients' and QHSE Management System requirements. Assist relevant personnel in development/implementation of documented processes (where a need is identified). Assist in the development revision of Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments, wherever necessary. Assisting Head of QHSE to evaluate QHSE performances such as (inspections, incident, trainings, working hours etc.) and reporting to the Top Management and/or to any other relevant interested party. Conduct periodic PTW Audits & accommodation inspection. Follow up the actions for identified discrepancies. Assist in completing the emergency drills / exercises as per the approved Emergency Exercise Drill plan Daily checks on workshops, plants and work / construction sites to ensure compliance with safety requirements. Carry out QHSE refresher inductions for all the on-site personnel & Visitor induction for all the contractors & visitors visiting the project site

Requirements
Safety Officer Experience: Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or related preferred Minimum of NEBOSH and OSHAD certification 2+ years of relevant experience as a HSE Engineer in civil construction projects Proven track record of working as a HSE Engineer on civil infrastructure and build projects Previous main contractor and civil infrastructure project experience is essential

NEBOSH or similar Certification with minimum 2 Year Experience.

Participate to develop HSE Management System in accordance with Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety & Health Centre (OSHAD-SF) guidance documents.

Ensured workplace safety by conducting training, inspections, communication of Safety procedures to all personnel within/outside the project.

Anticipate, recognize, and evaluate hazardous conditions, as well as develop hazardous control methods.

Development & maintenance Emergency preparedness Plans and conduct emergency response drills.

Advise the project management on HSE matters that recommended from consultant, client and outside bodies.

Conduct Risk Assessment and Job Safety Analysis at worksite.

Follow-up of safety related recommendations after survey and risk analysis.

Participate in updating and further develop the company technical safety requirements.

Participate in monitoring the HSE activities including site internal auditing and inspection.

Ensuring validity of all third-party certificates as per legal requirements and standard procedures.

Inspect and monitor the workplace daily.

Responsible for the training of new hires and all levels personnel's on HSE matters, with specific attention of hazard task.

Prepare the investigation of all incidents, accidents, and near misses.

Take and report immediately to the HSE Manager in case of dangerous action and/or situations.

To be of constant advisor on the field for any problem related to HSE for all personnel.

Conduct the toolbox meeting with Engineers/foremen and support them during this activity.

To verify on daily basis the correct use PPE by all personnel.

To participate to the safety committee meeting.

To ensure that firefighting and safety equipment is regularly inspected and serviced.

Prepare the Project HSE daily, weekly and monthly statistical report.

Participate reporting of site observation likes unsafe act and unsafe condition to Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM).

Prepare the correction action plan to closed out report to the client, consultant and others involved parties' observations reports.
