The Role

Our Multi National Civil Contracting client has a new requirement for a number of experienced Safety Officers to join their team in Abu Dhabi at a prestigious new project in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Safety Officer on major high rise projects in the UAE and have worked in the capacity of Safety Officer for a Main or Civil Contracting company previously. This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed by our client. Key Responsibilities: o Assist in the implementation of QHSE procedures, policies and standards that form the Company QHSE Management System, including review and possible revision o Attending QHSE Meetings as per Clients' and QHSE Management System requirements. o Assist relevant personnel in development/implementation of documented processes (where a need is identified). o Assist in the development revision of Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments, wherever necessary. o Assisting Head of QHSE to evaluate QHSE performances such as (inspections, incident, trainings, working hours etc.) and reporting to the Top Management and/or to any other relevant interested party. o Conduct periodic PTW Audits & accommodation inspection. o Follow up the actions for identified discrepancies. o Assist in completing the emergency drills / exercises as per the approved Emergency Exercise Drill plan o Daily checks on workshops, plants and work / construction sites to ensure compliance with safety requirements. o Carry out QHSE refresher inductions for all the on-site personnel & Visitor induction for all the contractors & visitors visiting the project site



Requirements

Safety Officer Experience: o Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or related preferred o Minimum of NEBOSH and OSHAD certification o 2+ years of relevant experience as a HSE Engineer in civil construction projects o Proven track record of working as a HSE Engineer on civil infrastructure and build projects o Previous main contractor and civil infrastructure project experience is essential
