Responsibilities:-
• Supports adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
• Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
• Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence.
• Supports the processes for checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
• Ensure recognised onshore & offshore engineering practices applicable to safety & risk design are adopted.
• Development of design and operational engineering studies in the areas of risk, safety and Safety & Risk.
• Designs Safety & Risk scope of work in contract and stewards design alternative studies, as required, to optimize project cost and schedule. o Gathering and compiling safety and environmental information. o Prepares and
• assists in the execution of: Hazard Studies (HAZID-ENVID/HAZOP/LOPA); HSE Checklist and Design Basis; Design HSE Review such as Human Factors, Hazardous Area Classification, Inherent Safety, Alarm Prioritisation.
• Knows the discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.
• Supports management of project change and progressing for the discipline and works with the Project Management Team to take corrective actions regarding any issues, staffing requirements, scope changes, progressing, or other events that could affect project completion and/or profitability.
• Plans discipline quality, monitors quality activities, recommends improvements, and takes action where required.
• Provide technical support within the discipline team, liaise with the project team, and consult with relevant resources as required.
• Coordinate review and approval of design and interfaces on clientrequirements and specifications.
• Prepare scope of work (SoW) and seek agreement from supervising Senior/ Lead Engineer (or designated representative). The SoW must clearly state the workscope, manhour budget and schedule to complete the work.
• Ensure all work is checked and approved before issue.
• Responsible for maintaining work progress (budget, schedule) and raising change documentation where necessary.
• Supervision of Safety & Risk design work, budget and schedule in Project work where requested by the Lead Engineer
• Ensuring Safety Principles and best practices are implemented early in the design phase.
• Participate in Safety Incidents Investigations, Carry out risk assessment on regular basis and track implementation of recommendations.
Qualifications:-
Degree in Chemical Engineering
Experience:-
• Relevant experience in Oil & Gas Industry engineering industry - onshore / offshore projects in Pre-FEED / FEED stage(s)
• Experience is middle east based projects is an added advantage
• Knowledge of / participation in Safety workshops such as PHA / HAZID, HAZOP, SIL & SIMOPS, etc.
• Knowledge of Safety Studies such as QRA, FERA, EERA, ESSA, Flare Radiation & Vent Dispersion, etc.
• Hands on working experience in loss prevention engineering / HSE design
• HSE and F&G Philosophies
• Active Fire Protection Systems
• Passive Fire Protection
• Hazardous Area Classification
• Specification & Datasheets for Fire safety equipment
• Safety Layouts
