Friendly Early Childhood Center in Dubai is currently looking for a highly motivated female Russian speaking Speech Therapist (part time or full time). The suitable candidate must hold relevant qualifications and to have experience working with children.
The Speech Therapist will play a vital role in helping children overcome speech and language challenges. The main responsibility is to support the children with needs enabling them to communicate effectively, confidently and to reach their full potential in their early years of development. The primary goal of the Speech Therapist is to help children to develop effective communications skills and to improve their overall quality of life and ensure successful social, emotional and academic development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Knowledge of relevant SEND legislation and best practices
• Knowledge of regulations and practice standards of Paediatric Speech Language Pathology
• Knowledge of equipment and instruments used in daily activities
• Specialisation or experience in paediatric speech therapy is preferred
• Understanding of children's development and different learning styles
• Patience, empathy and genuine interest in working with children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursery staff, parents, nurses, internal and external specialists
• Organisational skills and attention to details
• Kind and calm personality

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Provide guidance for children who have speech delay
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders among the young children, their possible causes and suitable treatment
• Evaluate the communication abilities of the child including articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, fluency (cluttering and stuttering) and voice quality
• Diagnose and treat speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders
• Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals
• Work in collaboration with other professionals such as pediatricians, SENCo, teachers, parents to gather information and access the child's needs
• Set realistic and achievable objectives for improving communication skills
• Develop Individualised plans based on the child's specific needs and goals
• Determine appropriate technics and strategies to address speech and language challenges
• Conduct the therapy in small groups, in classrooms, on-to-one sessions depends on the type of speech disorder
• Organise various activities, play, and exercises on the child's age, speech disorder and individual needs
• Select appropriate games, pictures and books as a part of language intervention to interact with the children
• Model correct syllables and sounds for children to teach them how to make the right sound
• Support parents and caregivers of the children in carrying out activities at home. Educate them on speech and language development milestones and red flags for communication disorders
• Support and advise the class teachers to implement various techniques at nursery
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcome
• Maintain accurate records of assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation
• Prepare reports and updates on the child's progress for referral sources, doctors, insurance companies and schools
