For individuals who can take the initiative but work well within a team.We are looking to recruit an ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) System Engineering Manager to join our team based in Dubai, UAE. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving the development and enhancement of our ROV and USV technologies. Reporting directly to the ROV Resource Centre Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers, ensuring the successful execution of projects and the delivery of high-quality, reliable underwater systems.Key responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of ROV and USV engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the team, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives, and track progress towards achieving key milestones.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize team performance, including resource allocation, workload management, and professional development initiatives.
  • Oversee the end-to-end development process of ROV and USV systems, from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Drive the design and optimization of vehicle structures, propulsion systems, control systems, and sensor integration to meet performance requirements and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, electrical engineering, and marine operations, to integrate subsystems and ensure seamless functionality.
  • Implement rigorous testing protocols to validate system performance and reliability under varying environmental conditions.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards, conducting thorough inspections and audits to identify and address any issues or deficiencies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ROV and USV technologies, providing technical guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Assist other departments, including sales, marketing, and customer support, by addressing engineering queries and providing insights into product capabilities and applications.
  • Collaborate with research and development teams to explore emerging technologies and innovation opportunities in underwater robotics.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of design specifications, engineering drawings, test results, and technical manuals in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with regulatory affairs teams to ensure compliance with relevant maritime regulations and certification standards.
  • Drive the development and implementation of standardized processes and procedures to streamline documentation and compliance efforts across projects.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in underwater robotics, actively researching and evaluating new methodologies, materials, and components to enhance system performance and functionality.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for innovation and differentiation in ROV and USV design and operation, driving the development of next-generation technologies and solutions.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop long-term strategic plans and roadmaps for the evolution of our underwater vehicle platforms and capabilities.
What skills and experience will you have?
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on ROVs, USVs, or marine robotics.
  • Proven track record of leadership and team management, with experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong technical proficiency in mechanical design, control systems, sensor integration, and underwater vehicle dynamics.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing underwater robotics (e.g., API, ISO, ABS).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
