The ROV Superintendent will oversee Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and precision. With expertise in ROV systems and instrumentation, they will lead teams in executing subsea projects from planning to completion. They will prioritize proactive maintenance, troubleshoot technical issues, and foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders for seamless project delivery.
Responsibilities:
Directing and supervising ROV operations to ensure adherence to project goals and safety protocols.
Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to plan and execute subsea operations effectively.
Complete all management duties expected offshore.
Effective handling of emergencies and management of the ROV team in such situations.
Managing and mentoring a skilled team of ROV technicians to optimize performance and efficiency.
Training / assessing ROV Supervisor, Senior Pilot Technicians and Pilot Technicians.
Ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to company policies during all operations.
Establish and maintain quality standards, conducting thorough inspections and audits to identify and address any issues or deficiencies.
Serve as a subject matter expert on ROV technologies, providing technical guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Utilizing in-depth knowledge of ROV systems and instrumentation for troubleshooting and maintenance.
Collaborate with research and development teams to explore emerging technologies and innovation opportunities in underwater robotics.
Demonstrate working knowledge of company BMS and associated ROV Procedures.
Drive the development and implementation of standardized processes and procedures to streamline documentation and compliance efforts across projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on ROVs, USVs, or marine robotics.
Proven track record of leadership and team management, with experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Strong technical proficiency in mechanical design, control systems, sensor integration, and underwater vehicle dynamics.
Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink).
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing underwater robotics (e.g., API, ISO, ABS).
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
