About the Role:

As the Road & Highways Expert, you will be responsible for overseeing the design process of road infrastructure projects, from concept to detailed design, while ensuring that all designs comply with local regulations and international best practices. You will lead a team of engineers, work closely with project managers, and collaborate with government authorities to deliver high-quality road networks that support Dubai's vision for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the road design process, ensuring that designs are technically sound, efficient, and comply with all relevant standards.

Lead a team of road and highway design engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to deliver high-quality design solutions.

Oversee the preparation of concept designs, detailed designs, and technical specifications.

Ensure the integration of road design with other disciplines, including drainage, utilities, and structures.

Review and approve road alignment, geometry, pavement design, and traffic management plans.

Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and risk evaluations for new road projects.

Ensure that designs comply with Dubai's road and transport authority (RTA) standards and regulations.

Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure designs are delivered on time and within budget.

Liaise with local authorities and government bodies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.

Monitor project progress, manage design changes, and address any issues that arise during the construction phase.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Minimum of 8 years of experience in road and highway design, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.

Strong knowledge of road design standards and regulations in the UAE, as well as international standards (e.g., AASHTO, DMRB).

Proficiency in road design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant platforms.

Proven track record of managing road design projects from concept to completion.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English (Arabic is a plus).

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred:

Experience working on large-scale road infrastructure projects in the Middle East.

Chartered Engineer status (e.g., CEng or PE) or membership in a recognised engineering institution.
