This is an excellent opportunity to work as a key member of this highly visible regional Finance team, in a growing and diversifying business.Working in the EMEA Finance Team, based in London, this is a pan-EMEA role and will involve reviewing revenue across the region.As a revenue specialist, the main objective of this role is to ensure revenue is complete and accurately reported in line with our established policies, processes and US GAAP/SOX regulations. This team collaborates with colleagues from across the organisation in the review of revenue related items in client contracts and engagements.Candidates should be well organised with an ability to prioritise and manage time effectively. They should be comfortable in a changing environment, mature, self-confident and have the presence and stature to gain the respect of their peers. They should have a deep understanding of the various revenue recognition methods under US GAAP, the ability to read and transfer contract terminology to compliant accounting by recognising and applying the correct revenue recognition method to each component of a new project. This is an intensely busy, business facing and visible role. Candidates must be able to work well under pressure, prioritise effectively, have a keen eye for detail and build solid relationships across the organisation.Principal Responsibilities:Responsible for revenue, accounts receivables transactions and reporting including:-\xc2\xb7 Working with all lines of business to apply the established revenue treatments providing the day to day determination that sales bookings meet US GAAP requirements for revenue recognition.\xc2\xb7 Review engagements for the application of accurate revenue recognition principles and escalate when necessary\xc2\xb7 Executes the processes that the evaluate accrued and deferred revenues, especially as part of period end close\xc2\xb7 Evaluates and escalates revenue issues as identified through accounting staff, Order to Cash, FP&A or fieldinteraction\xc2\xb7 Lead monthly meetings with sales, consulting and/or project management to review engagements to ensure accurate revenue recognition\xc2\xb7 Approve credit memos after reviewing for impact to revenue and bad debt considerations\xc2\xb7 Review change requests for engagements to ensure the impact to revenue remains correct\xc2\xb7 Review various reports to verify accuracy of revenue for all revenue streams, which include consulting, licenses/subscriptions and web-based products\xc2\xb7 Partner with and provide consultation to sales, project management and the order to cash teams on revenue considerations regarding client contracts/agreements, engagements, invoicing and credit memos\xc2\xb7 Working with external and internal auditors during EMEA audits\xc2\xb7 Participate in projects / initiatives of the Revenue COE team\xc2\xb7 Other ad hoc tasksThe Team:\xc2\xb7 This role will be part of the EMEA Revenue CoE team and work closely and will report to the EMEA Revenue Controller\xc2\xb7 This role will also work with the US based Corporate Revenue CoE team, Project Managers, EAs, Senior Executives, order to cash team and Regional AccountantsExperience:It is anticipated that the profile, skills and experience of the successful candidate will include:\xc2\xb7 Qualified accountant with at least 5 years of work experience (part qualified with relevant revenue related experience)\xc2\xb7 Experience working for a US listed public company, a plus\xc2\xb7 Professional and confident manner\xc2\xb7 Good communicator who is comfortable with stakeholders at all levels in the organisation\xc2\xb7 Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills\xc2\xb7 Ability to demonstrate a solid understanding of revenue accounting standards and to make well-reasoned and timely decisions\xc2\xb7 Excellent attention to detail, committed, bright, numerate and enthusiastic\xc2\xb7 Team player with a good work ethic who thrives in a multi-tasking, deadline driven environment\xc2\xb7 Experience with SAP/Business Objects (or other large enterprise wide accounting system), US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley would be helpful, but not essential\xc2\xb7 Fluent in English and Arabic.Internal Mobility at Korn FerryIf you currently work for Korn Ferry or one of our affiliates, you must be eligible to apply for a different position within Korn Ferry to use the Careers Site.
