Resubmission Officer - Hospital Setting
Location: Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Resubmission Officer to join our hospital's administrative team. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the resubmission process for denied or rejected medical claims, ensuring timely resubmission to insurance companies and government health authorities. The Resubmission Officer will collaborate closely with billing teams, medical coders, and clinicians to gather necessary documentation and resolve issues causing claim denials. This position requires strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of insurance regulations and medical coding practices, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review denied or rejected medical claims and determine the reasons for denial.
• Gather necessary documentation and information required for resubmission.
• Collaborate with billing specialists, medical coders, and healthcare providers to resolve issues causing claim denials.
• Ensure accurate completion of resubmission forms and adherence to deadlines.
• Communicate with insurance companies and government health authorities to clarify claim issues and expedite resubmission.
• Maintain detailed records of resubmission activities and outcomes.
• Stay updated on changes in insurance regulations, coding guidelines, and healthcare policies.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on resubmission processes and best practices.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in medical billing, insurance claims processing, or healthcare administration.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT) and insurance claim procedures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and healthcare management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (e.g., CPC) is a plus.
• Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting in the UAE.
• Familiarity with UAE insurance regulations and healthcare policies.
