This individual will ensure that guests have a seamless and enjoyable dining experience, maintain high levels of customer service, and support the management team in achieving operational and financial goals. The Supervisor will manage the floor during shifts, assist with staff training, handle guest concerns, and ensure the restaurant meets safety, cleanliness, and quality standards.Key Duties and Responsibilities
Greet and interact with guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
Address guest concerns or complaints professionally and promptly, aiming for resolution and guest satisfaction.
Monitor service levels and adjust as needed to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Serve as a departmental role model or mentor by working alongside employees to perform technical or functional job duties.
Oversee the dining room and ensure it is organized, clean, and properly set up for service.
Monitor food and beverage quality to ensure it meets company standards.
Maintain smooth communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
Ensure proper cash handling, processing of transactions, and closing duties as needed.
Ensure that hourly employees are trained on company core values, job roles, responsibilities, and technical and service aspects of the job.
Encourage and motivate employees to perform their best, take responsibility for tasks and assignments, make decisions, and provide input on possible improvements.
Assist management in ensuring that hourly employees have the necessary resources (e.g., supplies, equipment, and inventory) to perform their jobs effectively.
Assist management in establishing and communicating goals, performance expectations, timetables, and deadlines for shift or departmental operations to hourly employees and ensure that they are understood.
Coordinate tasks and work with other departments to ensure that the department runs efficiently.
Collaborate with management to develop and carry out ideas and procedures and set goals to continuously improve department performance around the guest and employee satisfaction scores.
Assist management in ensuring that associates are completing online training assigned to them.
Ensure all daily and monthly reports are detailed and submitted in a timely matter.
Ensure equipment maintenance by calling for repairs and training staff on proper use. Report and fix issues using proper standard operating procedures.
Raise Purchase requests promptly to ensure operational equipment will always be available.
Assist management with scheduling.
Ensure that opening and closing checklists are done and completed each day.
Work closely with management in leading the monthly beverage inventory with Cost Control.
Maintain proper inventory worksheet of all operational equipment.
Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking of restaurant supplies and beverages.
Conduct regular stock checks and report any discrepancies to the management.
Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the management team to support the smooth operation of the restaurant.
Take on the role of the acting manager in the absence of the Restaurant Manager or General Manager.
Supervise and lead restaurant staff, including servers, hosts, bussers, and other front-of-house employees.
Assign and ensure work tasks are completed on time and that they meet appropriate quality standards.
Coach and develop employees (e.g., create expectations for continual improvement, provide challenging tasks and assignments, hold development discussions, and construct and execute development plans).
Listen to hourly employees' suggestions for improving how work is done and how guests are served, gaining management support as needed to act upon suggestions.
Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and support to staff to ensure they deliver high-quality service.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to staff as necessary to ensure efficient service during peak times.
Assist in monitoring and meeting budgeted labor costs, sales, and other financial goals.
Help with scheduling and labor cost management to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
Ensure the restaurant meets its service standards, operational efficiencies, and financial performance targets.
Experience & Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality or related field is a plus.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position within a five-star hotel
Familiarity with systems and practices
Strong verbal communication skills along with active listening
Customer focus and adaptability to different personality types
Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively
