Resident Engineer Structural (Bridges / Underpasses)

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Resident Engineer Structural to join our team! In this role you will get to p lan, schedule, supervise, and exercise administrative authority over all field of engineering work .
What You'll Be Doing:
• Ensure All plans are approved as per procedures and DOA matrix.
• Monitor Progress and identify potential issues that may impact timelines or quality.
• Monitor projects related progress of work.
• Follow up the closure of all competed projects.
• Coordinate with Assets Department to ensure the O&M Related assets are Surveyed and the Survey is Updated.
• Review the Draft Variation orders before submitting to the Governance team.
• Review the Draft Work Orders before submitting to the Governance team.
• Monitor the tendering plan and report the Tendring progress.
• Take a part in tendering evaluation for all tenders in the technical departments.
• Performing and managing simple and complex analysis, design and documents of various structures with emphasis on structures as well as conducting Field investigation and construction phases observation also direct subordinate staff and assist with business development activities.
• Perform design and analysis functions for various Structures.
• Conduct assessments and Evaluations for existing Structures.
• Attend Meetings with clients, jurisdictional agencies other professionals and organization.
• Supervise others including but not limited to administrative , technical and professional staff
• Develop Solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget, schedule and project constraints.
• Issue reports, schedules, estimates of probable costs responses to SOIs RFPs
• Review Designs prepared by others as part of TQM process.
• Perform peer reviews ,forensic studies and expert reporting and witness services.
• Act as, and fulfil the duties of, the Engineer with regards to assigned duties and delegated authority and be directly responsible to the Employer during the construction of the Works.
• Issue orders/direction to the Contractor to correct any activities, work, materials and/or equipment which are not in compliance with the Contract.
• Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the construction supervision team working on the construction of the roadworks and associated works including the site engineers, the work inspectors and the surveyors.
• Provide assistance, information and advice to the Employer regarding the issuance of variations and adjustments to the settlement of the Contractor's accounts.
• Provide recommendations to the Employer for Contractor payments.
• Advise on contractual and construction matters regarding bridges /roads maintenance and construction and associated works.
• Maintain the Resident Engineers' daily diary and daily diaries and reports by his subordinates.
• Prepare progress reports as applicable.
• Coordinate with Client/PMC, the Contractor and related concerned Authorities.
• Comply with safety, health and risk management requirements.
• Report back as necessary to SRE/CM or Project Manager.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
• University BSc Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 15 years engineering experience in Maintenance and construction of Structures (Bridges & underpasses) and Roads in UAE.
• Demonstrable experience in all aspects of supervision on major Bridges , road and general infrastructure projects within the UAE and/or Gulf region
• Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration or other similar professional organizations preferred.
• Emphasis on Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
• Have a sound knowledge about contractual relationships.
• Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
• Familiar with the AD Municipality Departments operation and processes
• Registered as practicing engineer in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is preferred.
• Equivalency certificate is a must
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
• Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction related processes, as well as industry practices.
• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a supervisory capacity on a project
