The Role

Our International Project Management & Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Resident Engineer - Roads & Bridges to join their team in Abu Dhabi, UAE to work on new roads, bridges and underpass projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Resident Engineer on large scale civil infrastructure, roads and highways projects in the UAE and the wider GCC. This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed by our client. Key Responsibilities: o Oversee and monitor infrastructure contractors and sub-contractors' activities to ensure successful completion of delivery as per contracts' requirements, specifications and timelines. o Manage day-to-day on site operations and advise on technical, logistical and administrative issues in order to ensure seamless infrastructure assets delivery. o Lead periodic meetings with the infrastructure contractors and sub-contractors' planning teams in order to ensure successful completion of delivery as per contracts' requirements, specifications and timelines, and in synergy with all assets of the portfolio. o Lead periodic meetings with the development teams to ensure coordination and continuous reflection of design changes when required. o Lead periodic meetings with the construction teams to ensure coordination and discuss issues and potential improvements of construction methods and logistics. o Lead periodic meetings with Government representatives to ensure smooth delivery in terms of legal matters. o Manage quality assurance programs in coordination with PMO in order to ensure delivery in accordance with agreed quality standards. o Manage Health, safety and Environment (HSE) programs in coordination with PMO to ensure workers safety and compliance with HSE construction requirements. o Develop weekly and monthly progress reports including but not limited to progress made in each key area, analysis of progress against the overall program, explanation of delay causes, analysis of KPIs and assessment of quality issues in order to provide the program direction with a clear view of progress. o Provide the Project Controls teams with detailed risk registers, cost reports, schedule reports and general documentation to ensure accurate project control o Well versed with Local Authorities (RTA) regulations and procedures in obtaining NOC's and approvals



Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) o 15+ years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience o Experience in Abu Dhabi DMT projects would be advantageous o Proven ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity o Excellent written and oral communications skills o Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required o Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments
