Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Resident Engineer to join our team in DUBAI. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of recent experience working with construction consultants on utilities projects in DUBAI. The Resident Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of utilities projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Project Oversight:

• Manage and supervise all aspects of utilities projects, from planning and design through to construction and completion.
• Ensure that all project activities are carried out in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and budgets.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Coordination and Communication:

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the client, contractors, and project team.
• Facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Conduct regular project meetings to discuss progress, resolve issues, and coordinate efforts.

Quality Assurance and Control:

• Implement and oversee quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of construction.
• Review and approve project plans, designs, and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Address and resolve any technical issues that arise during construction.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

• Ensure all project activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Promote a culture of safety on-site, conducting regular safety audits and inspections.
• Implement corrective actions to address any safety concerns or violations.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, inspection records, and correspondence.
• Prepare and submit regular project status reports to clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure all project documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant parties.

Mentorship and Leadership:

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other project team members.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting professional development and growth.
• Lead by example, demonstrating strong work ethics and a commitment to excellence.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 15 years of recent experience in engineering roles with construction consultants, specifically on utilities projects in DUBAI.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale utilities projects.
• In-depth knowledge of local regulations, standards, and best practices in DUBAI.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to project management and design.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
