Job Summary:The Senior Resident Engineer will be responsible for the on-site supervision and management of strategic construction projects in Abu Dhabi. This role involves overseeing a multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners, contract managers, inspectors, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) officers, and QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) personnel. The Senior Resident Engineer will ensure project delivery aligns with the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency, while meeting budget and schedule requirements.Key Responsibilities:
Lead the site supervision and overall execution of strategic construction projects.
Manage and coordinate a large team of engineers from various disciplines (civil, structural, MEP, etc.), as well as planners, contract managers, HSE officers, and QA/QC engineers.
Ensure that all construction activities comply with the approved designs, technical specifications, and contract requirements.
Monitor project progress, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are adhered to.
Conduct regular site inspections and lead technical meetings with the contractor, client, and project team.
Provide leadership in resolving design and construction issues, including unforeseen site conditions, design changes, and coordination conflicts.
Ensure that health and safety regulations are followed on-site, working closely with HSE teams to maintain a safe working environment.
Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes, ensuring that all materials and workmanship meet specified standards.
Review and approve contractor submissions, including shop drawings, material approvals, and method statements.
Collaborate with contract managers to monitor and manage project costs, claims, and variations.
Provide regular progress reports to the client and company management.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in construction supervision, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
Proven experience managing large teams on high-profile construction projects.
Excellent knowledge of construction processes, materials, and relevant codes and standards.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
Experience in contract management, cost control, and project planning.
Familiarity with HSE regulations and QA/QC procedures.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is preferred.
