The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer to join our dynamic engineering consultancy team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ideal candidate will be a British or US national with extensive experience in managing engineering projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role involves overseeing the execution of projects on-site, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring that all engineering activities align with project goals and deadlines. The Resident Engineer will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and contractors, playing a crucial role in delivering projects on time and within budget. Responsibilities: o Oversee and manage engineering projects on-site, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. o Act as the primary liaison between the client, contractors, and project stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. o Review and approve project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure they meet project requirements and standards. o Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols. o Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, resolving any engineering issues that arise during construction. o Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence. o Ensure that all engineering activities are aligned with the overall project schedule and budget constraints. o Participate in project meetings, providing updates on site progress, potential risks, and mitigation strategies. o Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all necessary permits and approvals. o Mentor and supervise junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.



Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus. o Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the UAE or GCC region. o Proven experience in managing large-scale engineering projects from inception to completion. o Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and project management practices. o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders. o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. o Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure. o Familiarity with relevant software tools and technologies used in engineering project management. o Professional engineering registration (e.g., Chartered Engineer) is highly desirable. o Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
