Opening in 2004, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar is part of a reciprocal effort with the Qatar Foundation to bring excellent American educational undergraduate programs to the Middle East. We are seeking Research Coordinator in the Research Office in our Qatar campus. Duties: 1. Routing/entering/updating SPEX/SPARCS, creating the PT in Oracle for new org strings, helping review and correct proposal budgets in QGrants, as needed, helping review completeness of proposals, assisting with pre-fund response to QNRF, and helping ensure the completeness and accuracy of CMU's vetting and pre-fund documents and data in QGrants. 2. Provides administrative support for grant administration related to grant personnel, monitoring of and assisting with monthly labor distribution (LD) and cost allocation for grant personnel, effort certification, reviewing and processing Personnel Requisition Forms (PRFs), wire transfer review/confirmation, sub-award and contract monitoring/extensions. 3. Provides administrative support for the quarterly internal audit documentation requests to Finance, Business Office and International Finance and is part of the Research Office team preparing for and responding to QNRF audits. 4. Assists in providing financial reporting to faculty on various research grants and for various programs and discretionary accounts on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. 5. Serves as backup, as needed, for entering financials and change requests in QGrants for interim and close out reports, providing budget projections for PIs, providing budget assessments to PIs for new hire requests, calculation of days of effort for QNRF reports, and other related grant administration tasks. 6. Assists with review of expenditures for grant closeouts and with the QNRF audit documentation pulls and review of expenditures for audit responses. 7. Provides pre-review of research applications to ensure that submissions are review ready as related to ethical and regulatory requirements. 8. Serves as first point of contact for phone and email inquiries to the IRB office, either providing feedback to the inquiry or directing to the appropriate staff member. 9. Provides administrative support for IRB record retention and for maintaining complete IRB records. This includes maintaining IRB member files as well as proof of human subjects training certifications. 10. Responsible for scheduling coordination and event planning, and taking meeting minutes. 11. Assists with audits as needed. 12. Ensures IRB and grant documentation are properly filed and stored-both electronic and hard copy and assists with data updates for and maintenance of RO databases. 13. Coordinates events, travel arrangements, conferences arrangements, and workshops setup. 14. Performs related duties as required. 15. Supports with logistics of the internal research grants (advertising, online presence, communicating with students, and other stakeholders 16. Supports on campus activities related to undergraduate research.
