The Department of Genetics and Genomics at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the UAEU invites applications for a research assistant position. The project seeks to uncover genes linked to Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia and to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which their pathogenic variants drive disease progression. Successful candidates should possess fundamental technical skills in molecular and cellular biology with extensive hands-on experience in cell culture, cloning, Mutagenesis, PCR, Sanger sequencing, immunofluorescence, and Western blotting. Additionally, a basic understanding of genetics and inherited disorders is essential. Experience with gene editing tools like CRISPR/Cas9 is preferable.
