The institute of Public Health (IPH) at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant to join an interdisciplinary team working on a project Assessing the prevalence, diagnosis and management of penicillin allergy and its impact on maternal health among pregnant women attending antenatal care clinics in the UAE. The successful candidate will contribute to data collection, analysis, and the dissemination of findings to inform relevant programs, policy makers and best practices in healthcare setting. Collaborate with the project team, which includes principal investigator, coinvestigators and public health experts, to ensure the successful execution of the research project and support the research team in a wide variety of research activities. Key Responsibilities: o Support extraction and organization of the data required for the research from the patients' electronic medical records system in collaboration with the Mutaba'ah team o Perform data cleaning, validation, and basic statistical analysis using SPSS, R, or other relevant software. o Conduct literature reviews on penicillin allergy, maternal health, and related topics. o Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and ethical research guidelines. o Assist in preparing study reports, presentations, and research publications. o Engage in the wider research and scholarly activities of the research group and the Institute o Carry out administrative and management work associated with the research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and research team Only those candidates selected for interview will be contacted. Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Informatics, or a related field
Preferred Qualification
Postgraduate degree or in the process of obtaining a postgraduate degree in public health or epidemiology
Expected Skills
Prior experience with electronic medical records (preferably Cerner) and health data analysis is preferred. o Proficiency in data extraction, organization, and analysis (SPSS, R, Nvivo, Stata Excel). o Strong written and verbal communication abilities in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus). o Previous experience in research proposal writing and published papers o Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle large datasets accurately. o Ability to work independently and take initiative. o Demonstrated awareness of cultural, privacy, and confidentiality issues
