Job Description

The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking a research assistant to work on a research project entitled "Waste-derived geopolymers for removal of pharmaceutically active compounds from water". The project is a collaboration between the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and the Chemistry Department at the UAEU. Applicants need a good understanding of organic chemistry and geopolymerization, with previous publications in the field of geopolymers, pharmaceutically active compounds, sorption of organic compounds, or other related fields. The candidate should meet the requirements for admission to the PhD program at the UAEU.



Minimum Qualification



• MSc degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or chemistry. o Grade point average (GPA) above 3\.5 on a scale of 4\.0 or its equivalent both for the BSc and MSc degrees. o IELTS score of 6\.5 or above.


Preferred Qualification



• Previous publications in the field of geopolymers, pharmaceutically active compounds, sorption of organic compounds, or other related fields. o Previous conference participation. o Demonstrable willingness to support work in the lab. o Be adaptable and flexible to the continuous changes associated with research demands.
