We are looking for a highly skilled Research Assistant to join a research study led by Dr. Farida Almarzooqi (Internal Medicine) and Dr. Hiba Alblooshi (Genetics) at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University. This study focuses on investigating the molecular and genetic foundations of allergic and immunologic disorders in the UAE. Responsibilities: Patient Recruitment & Data Management ? Recruit patients, obtain informed consent, and collect clinical data and biological samples. ? Manage and organize data in accordance with study protocols and Institutional Review Board (IRB) compliance. Laboratory Work & Sample Processing ? Sample Handling: Collect, label, store, and process biological samples. ? Flow Cytometry & Assays: Perform immune cell analysis and functional tests. ? Cell Culture & Allergy Testing: Maintain cell cultures, perform IgE and allergy tests. ? Molecular & Genetic Testing: Conduct PCR, ELISA, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), and gene expression studies. Laboratory Operations & Safety: ? Perform daily lab procedures following established protocols. ? Prepare laboratory solutions, buffers, cell media, reagents, and cultures as needed for experiments. ? Implement appropriate biosafety practices, waste disposal (biological and spent solvent waste), and lab maintenance protocols. ? Conduct quality control and periodic maintenance of equipment. Bioinformatics & Data Analysis ? Utilize bioinformatics tools to analyze genetic variants and genotype-phenotype correlations. ? Provide critical data analysis, perform calculations, and create visual representations (tables, graphs, and figures) using software such as SPSS and Excel. ? Evaluate new technologies to enhance or complement current research. Research Coordination & Lab Management ? Maintain detailed and organized documentation of experiments, troubleshooting procedures, and lab records. ? Supervise and train students/junior technicians in laboratory techniques and ensure compliance with lab protocols. ? Oversee procurement of chemicals and materials, liaise with suppliers for product customization, and maintain an up-to-date inventory of lab supplies. ? Ensure proper functioning of lab equipment, perform minor repairs, and troubleshoot technical issues. ? Coordinate molecular and cellular research activities with scientists in related fields. ? Conduct literature reviews for research grant applications, presentations, and manuscript preparation. Reporting & Scientific Communication ? Collate experimental data into publishable form and report findings to the Senior Research Scientist in a timely and structured manner. ? Assist in preparing research manuscripts, presentations, and grant proposals. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Minimum Qualification



Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.



Preferred Qualification



Experience with laboratory testing, bioinformatics, genomics, or protein chemistry.



Expected Skills



? 2+ years of research experience in a biomedical lab. ? Strong background in molecular biology, immunology lab work, immunodeficiency functional testing, or allergic disorder research. ? Proficiency in SPSS, Excel, or other statistical software for data analysis. ? Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills. ? Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training and research integrity certification preferred.
