Job Description

The Infectious Diseases Epidemiology Research Advancement (IDERA) Unit, hosted by the Institute of Public Health (IPH) at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University, is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to support its research activities in infectious diseases epidemiology. We are looking for a highly motivated and suitably qualified candidate with training, experience, and achievements in epidemiological research. The IPH at UAE University serves as a national hub for epidemiological studies on communicable diseases of public health importance to the UAE and the broader region. Research output from the IPH is regularly published in leading scientific journals. The successful candidate will not only contribute to research projects but will also play a key role in administrative support related to research activities within the IPH. Duties and Responsibilities: ? Assist in designing and conducting epidemiological studies on infectious diseases. ? Support data collection, management, and analysis using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R). ? Conduct literature reviews and synthesize evidence to support research projects. ? Contribute to manuscript preparation and submission for peer-reviewed publications. ? Assist in preparing research reports, presentations, and grant proposals. ? Support research-related administrative tasks, including ethics applications, documentation, and coordination of research meetings. ? Perform any other research-related tasks as required by the IDERA Unit and the Institute of Public Health.



Minimum Qualification



? A Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related field.



Preferred Qualification



? Experience in research related to infectious diseases epidemiology. ? Previous involvement in research grants and project administration. ? Familiarity with systematic reviews and meta-analyses.



Expected Skills



Demonstrated experience in epidemiological research and data analysis. Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, SAS). Strong scientific writing skills, with experience in manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed journals. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a research team.
