The Procurement Head is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. You will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Additionally, you will oversee the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
The Procurement Head is in charge of acquiring goods and services essential to the company's operations. They manage the entire supply chain to guarantee a steady flow of products while identifying potential obstacles that may disrupt productivity. Specific duties typically include:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency.
Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, sourcing, purchasing, and delivery.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
Work closely with the project management and site teams to ensure that material requirements are met and that there is no disruption to the construction or landscaping activities.
Ensure timely delivery of materials to various project sites and address any issues related to material shortages or delays.
Stay abreast of market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with local regulations, including import/export laws, industry standards, and environmental guidelines.
Verify that materials and supplies meet the required quality standards and specifications for construction and landscaping projects.
Evaluates vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price.
Lead and mentor the procurement team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
Track orders and ensure timely delivery
Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfillment of orders.
Researches and evaluates vendors to compare pricing and services.
Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise.
Oversee the inventory of construction and landscaping materials, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and aligned with project timelines.
Monitor stock usage and forecast future material requirements.
Ensure proper storage, handling, and maintenance of materials at the site.
Key Requirements
:
Experience
: Minimum of 10+ years of procurement experience, preferably within the construction and/or landscape industries in the UAE.
Education
: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
Skills
:
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
Familiarity with the construction and/or landscape material sourcing, costs, and supply chains.
Knowledge of procurement software and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
:
Experience working with construction and/or landscaping suppliers in the UAE, with knowledge of the specific materials and services required for these industries.
Familiarity with UAE import/export regulations and local supplier networks.
