The Purpose of the Role
The Reporting Manager will oversee the preparation, analysis, and delivery of financial and management reports aligned with the EIA's strategic objectives. Therole ensures the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the internal governance framework. The Reporting Manager will support the Finance Director in enhancing financial reporting processes, improving efficiency, and contributing to strategic decision-making through actionable insights.
Strategic Responsibilities
• Design and implement robust financial reporting systems to align with the EIA's long-term economic and strategic goals.
• Lead financial reporting initiatives that support EIA's Strategy Refresh (SR) program, ensuring accurate representation of financial performance in line with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with the Finance Director to establish frameworks that facilitate transparent and actionable financial disclosures to the Federal Government and internal stakeholders.
• Enhance processes to integrate sustainability and ESG considerations into financial reporting, reflecting EIA's focus on sustainable investments and green technologies.
Core Responsibilities
• Prepare and deliver financial statements, budgets, and management reports aligned with IFRS and EIA's governance standards.
• Create and maintain standardized templates for internal/external reporting for stakeholders, including the Board and auditors.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting for EIA's diversified investment portfolio in collaboration with the Asset Management and Strategic Assets departments.
• Conduct variance analyses to compare actual versus budgeted performance, identifying trends and providing actionable recommendations.
• Manage year-end audits with external auditors, ensuring timely completion and resolution of queries.
• Implement financial systems/tools for streamlined data collection and reporting.
• Monitor and adapt to regulatory changes, ensuring compliance with UAE and international standards.
• Present complex financial data clearly to senior management and the Board.
People Management Responsibilities
• Mentor and develop the finance team, aligning with EIA's competency framework and fostering continuous improvement.
Conduct performance reviews and set clear objectives to enhance team productivity.
• Provide training on financial reporting best practices and regulatory updates.
• Encourage cross-departmental collaboration for integrated financial reporting.
Requirements
Education
• Mandatory: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Preferred: Professional certifications like CPA, ACCA, or CFA.
Experience
• Minimum: 8+ years in financial reporting with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Relevant Industry: Government entities, sovereign wealth funds, or investment institutions.
Technical Skills / Expertise / Knowledge
• Proficiency in financial reporting systems and tools, including ERP solutions and advanced Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS, UAE financial regulations, and reporting frameworks for sovereign wealth funds.
• Expertise in preparing and analyzing consolidated financial statements for a diversified investment portfolio.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on financial performance metrics, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Knowledge of ESG reporting standards and sustainable finance.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to diverse stakeholders.
