OverviewReporting to the Assistant Nurse Manager or Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse - Post Natal role is responsible for providing and maintaining a high standard of individualized nursing care to patients (primarily patients in Obstetrics and Gynecology- Post delivery care setting) and their family members according to current best-evidence based standards, using best judgement at all times in alignment with DOH/DHA and MH policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.ResponsibilitiesNursing Care
Provides Initial nursing assessment according with the clinical guidelines of the allocated business unit, proceeds with the required medical referrals as per clinical guidelines.
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for each patients condition while taking into consideration socioeconomic and cultural factors to ensure a patient center model of care and enhancement of patient and family experience.
Able to provide close monitoring nursing assessment on advance clinical level, and implanted nursing care plan accordingly.
Able to provide advance care in medical procedures assistance, in advance specialized areas of care, mainly in perioperative, acute care or intensive care settings
Management and administration of all types medication, as per business unit allocation.
Promotes a healthy environment that maximizes patient safety, promoting compliance of clinical practice guidelines, clinical pathways and hospital policies, contributing for best evidence practice and serving as a role model.
Uses in an efficient and carefully manner clinical equipment, uses the material resources of the business unit under the guidelines and policies of the organization.
Maintains requirements of medical store monitoring and safety checks.
Documents as per organization policies and guidelines, maintains effective communication, promoting continuum of patient care.
Practices nursing interventions and nursing activities as per clinical competencies assigned to the role.
Communicates effectively escalation of care, based on nursing assessment.
Determines nursing interventions required based on patient assessment and prioritizes the identified patient needs in close coordination with the most responsible physician and multidisciplinary team.
Facilitates and ensures patient and family education strategies and plans are implemented during the period of admission to discharge, guaranteeing patient safety, management of care and healthcare preventive activities.
Monitors and resolves patients concerns and provides feedback regarding satisfaction results to nursing management.
Facilitates a smooth patient journey within the required services and levels of care
QualificationsEducaion
Bachelors Degree in Nursing
OR
Associate degree in Nursing from Canada
or USA with minimum 2 years course duration and successful completion of the National exam:o USA: NCLEX - RNo Canada: Licensing ExamExperience
Minimum 3 years experience post qualification
Current Nursing license in country of origin
3+ years of progressive career experience in nursing in specialized services and provides evidence of clinical certification in specialized areas.
2+ years of progressive career experience in nursing in a mid-large health institution or in an acute hospital setting in Western countries.
