• IV Cannulation:
• Perform IV cannulation, ensuring proper insertion and maintenance of intravenous lines.
• Assess and select suitable veins for cannulation.
• Monitor and manage IV infusions, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Blood Extraction:
• Conduct venipuncture and capillary puncture for blood sample collection.
• Follow standard procedures for handling and labeling blood samples to avoid contamination.
• Ensure accurate identification and documentation of patient samples.
• Patient Care:
• Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns to reduce anxiety.
• Monitor patients post-procedure for any adverse reactions or complications.
• Provide first aid or immediate care in case of complications during or after cannulation and blood extraction.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Adhere to infection control protocols, including the proper disposal of needles and other sharps.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and institutional policies.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting and documentation of procedures.
• Team Collaboration:
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in patient care.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior staff in IV cannulation and phlebotomy techniques.
