High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the housekeeping or related professional area.
OR
2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; no work experience required.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIESThe Head Butler oversees the functioning and delivery of butler services. Verifies that there is a seamless approach to the pre-arrival, guest stay and at departure through The Ritz-Carlton brand standards. Supervises the work of the Butler and Senior Butler team and drives strong coordination with other departments. Responsibilities also include people management tasks including creating schedules to ensure optimal staffing levels and to keep the Guest Satisfaction Scores up to the goals established.Promotes guest loyalty through the execution of a high-end service based on attention to detail and handcrafted services based on Bedouin ritual experiences and very high anticipatory and precise service.He is knowledgeable of the Senior Butler and Butler tasks and responsibilities and executes the same whenever is required as he is actively assisting guests and has guest assignments too in the al Sarab and Two Bedroom villas and other VIPsThe Head Butler's success is rooted in a deep passion for service, uncompromising standards, the ability to anticipate needs, and impeccable interpersonal skills.He/She is expected to create a safe workplace, follow company policies and procedures, uphold quality standards, and ensure your uniform, personal appearance, and communications are professional. Butler team members will be on their feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended time) and taking a hands-on approach to work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance). Doing all these things well (and other reasonable job duties as requested) is critical for Butler team members - to get it right for our guests and our business each and every time.Conducting Human Resources Activities
Uses all available on the job training tools to train new room attendants and provide follow-up training as necessary.
Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and verifies employees do the same with them.
Schedules employees to business demands and for tracks employee time and attendance.
Verifies employees understand expectations and parameters.
Verifies property policies are administered fairly and consistently, disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and support the Peer Review Process, where applicable.
Supervises staffing levels to verify that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
Observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals.
Verifies employee recognition is taking place on all shifts.
Participates in an on-going employee recognition program.
Solicits employee feedback, utilizes an open door policy, and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
Participates in employee progressive discipline procedures.
Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members.
