RINA is currently recruiting for a Railway System Engineering Manager to join its office in Abu Dhabi within the Italy Infrastructure & Mobility Division.MissionRINA is seeking a Railway System Engineering Manager to be based in UAE, available for traveling in all GCC countries, to be included in the Overall System Engineering Organization of a paramount Railway Project in the GCC region.Key AccountabilitiesThe key focus of the role is to manage the overall System Engineering Management Process throughout the whole lifecycle of the Project. The selected candidate will manage the following processes related to System Engineering and Integration leading a team of three Engineering managers as follows:A System Verification and Validation Manager, responsible for the implementation of the following engineering processes:
Requirements Management;
Configuration Management;
Software Management.
A System RAMS Manager, responsible for the implementation of the following engineering processes:
RAM Management;
Safety Management;
Fire Life Safety.
A System Interface and Integration Manager, responsible for the implementation of the following engineering processes:
Interface Management;
EMI/EMC;
Earthing and Bonding;
Stray Currents;
Security;
Cybersecurity;
Human Factors;
Ergonomics.
She/he will coordinate a team of dedicated professionals based in different RINA offices (India, Turkey, Abu Dhabi).The role requires a full-time presence in the Project Offices, which will be based in UAE and Oman (only in the last phase of the Testing and Commissioning activities). The project duration is approximately 4 years.The Candidate shall have a background in Railways/Metro/LRT System Engineering with particular reference to System Engineering Management and Integration. He/she must have covered a similar role in a Railway/Metro/LRT Project. .Key Project Tasks and activities
Be responsible for the production and management of the network level Systems Assurance Plans and Procedures (SAPP) required to support harmonization and integration of the systems assurance activities across the Project.
Be responsible for the production of a Systems Assurance Integration Plan (SAIP), which shall include Contractor\'s methodology and procedure for systems assurance. The plan shall also provide system integration specific guidelines for rest of the contractors.
Ensure that Contractors\' system assurance work comply with the requirements of EN 50126 for system assurance integration scope of works.
review the systems assurance plans provided by the other contractors, (e.g. civil and track, station works, Rolling Stock, O&M facility & Freight Facilities etc.) to ensure that the contractors\' plans, and procedures are aligned with the SAIP and SAPP thus ensuring an effective system assurance integration.
Coordinate and guide the activities of the System Verification and Validation Manager, the System RAMS Manager, the System Interface and Integration Manager (and later in the Project also the Integrated Testing and Commissioning Manager).
be responsible for carrying out all the network level integration, interface and coordination activities.
act as the overall responsible party performing all necessary activities to achieve all the necessary system level and Network level approvals and NOCs from relevant stake holders.
be responsible for carrying out all the network level activities that are necessary to meet the overall performance and requirements of the Railway Link Network in line with the stated standards and guidelines.
Other responsibilities
Integrate in a seamlessly manner with the other member of RINA System Engineering Team.
Coordination and guidance of the members of the Interface and Integration Team operation from other RINA Office Locations, in particular with the RINA India Office and RINA Turkiye Office.
Follow instructions and procedures coming from RINA Headquarters in terms of HSE, Compliance, Human Resources requirements.
EducationBachelor\'s Degree in Engineering GeneralQualifications
Minimum 20 years\' experience in the Railways/Metro/LRT technical domain.
Minimum 15 years experience as Railway System Engineering Manager, Railway Interface Manager, Railway Integration Manager.
Having covered one of the above positions in a Railway/Metro/LRT Projects during the whole duration of the Project Implementation or at least for minimum 2 years consecutively.
Relevant university level qualifications degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronical Engineering.
Excellent experience in using specific System Engineering Software especially for the management of Interface Requirements. Experience in using IBM ComplyPro is essential.
Excellent English written communication skills including writing and editing - ability to easily communicate the required ideas or concept and tailor responses to client specifications.
Having experience in the GCC Countries is a plus. In any case an international experience (i.e. outside her/his home country) is mandatory.
Arabic language is a plus.
