: Quantity Surveyor (QS) - Mechanical **Location:** Dubai **Experience:** Minimum 8+ years in Oil and Gas Projects with Tank Farm Experience **Availability:** Immediate joiner preferred **Key Responsibilities:** - **Cost Estimation and Management:** Develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical components of oil and gas projects, with a focus on tank farms, and manage project costs from inception to completion. - **Quantity Take-offs:** Perform accurate quantity take-offs for mechanical works including piping, tanks, pumps, and other related equipment. - **Contract Administration:** Assist in the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions. - **Valuation and Payments:** Prepare valuations and process progress payments, ensuring all claims are accurate and submitted on time. - **Variation Management:** Evaluate and manage variation claims, providing detailed analysis and recommendations for approval or rejection. - **Financial Reporting:** Generate regular financial reports and forecasts, identifying potential cost overruns or savings, and communicate findings to senior management. - **Tendering Process:** Participate in the tendering process by preparing bills of quantities, evaluating contractor bids, and making recommendations for contract awards. - **Site Inspections:** Conduct regular site inspections to verify quantities, ensure work is progressing according to specifications, and maintain quality control. - **Dispute Resolution:** Address and resolve any contractual disputes or claims that arise, working closely with the legal team and project managers. - **Compliance and Standards:** Ensure all mechanical works comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. **Requirements:** - Minimum of 8+ years of experience as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor in oil and gas projects, specifically with tank farm experience. - Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components used in oil and gas projects, including naphtha and crude oil tanks. - Proficiency in cost estimation, budget management, and financial reporting for mechanical works. - Familiarity with FIDIC and other standard forms of contracts. - Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. - Proficiency in using quantity surveying and project management software. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Willingness to travel to project sites as required. **Preferred Skills:** - Experience working in the UAE or GCC region. - Professional certification such as MRICS or equivalent is an advantage. - Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
