Job Description

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

Preparation of Estimates:

Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects based on project plans and specifications.

Cost Planning:

Develop and maintain cost plans, including cost forecasts and budget control measures.

Tendering and Procurement:

Tender Preparation:

Prepare and issue tender documents, including bills of quantities, to contractors and suppliers.

Tender Evaluation:

Evaluate tender submissions, compare bids, and recommend contractors or suppliers.

Contract Negotiation:

Negotiate and finalize contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.

Contract Administration:

Contract Management:

Administer construction contracts, including managing contract variations, change orders, and claims.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of contract correspondence, changes, and financial transactions.

Cost Control and Financial Management:

Cost Monitoring:

Monitor project costs and expenditure against the budget and report on any variances.

Payment Certification:

Certify payments to contractors and suppliers based on work completed and contract terms.

Final Account Preparation:

Prepare and agree on final accounts with contractors and subcontractors.

Quantity Measurement:

Take-off Measurements:

Measure and quantify materials and labor required for construction works from drawings and specifications.

Bills of Quantities:

Prepare detailed bills of quantities for use in tendering and procurement processes.

Project Monitoring and Reporting:

Progress Reports:

Monitor and report on project progress, including cost performance and forecasted final costs.

Variance Analysis:

Analyze and report on variances between estimated and actual costs.

Risk Management:

Risk Assessment:

Identify and assess risks related to cost and procurement and develop mitigation strategies.

Contingency Planning:

Advise on contingency plans and cost implications for potential risks.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and contractual obligations.

Quality Control:

Verify that work meets specified quality standards and contractual requirements.

Client Liaison:

Client Communication:

Communicate with clients to understand their requirements, provide cost advice, and address any concerns.

Advice and Support:

Offer professional advice on cost-effective solutions and project cost management.

Team Collaboration:

Coordination:

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure accurate cost estimates and project alignment.

Team Support:

Provide guidance and support to junior quantity surveyors and other team members.

Documentation and Reporting:

Record Keeping:

Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all project-related financial transactions and documentation.

Reporting:

Prepare detailed reports on cost status, forecasts, and financial performance for management and stakeholders.

Market Research:

Price Trends:

Research and analyze market trends, material prices, and labor rates to inform cost estimates and procurement strategies.

Supplier and Contractor Analysis:

Evaluate and benchmark suppliers and contractors to ensure competitive pricing and performance.

Key Skills and Competencies:



Technical Skills:

Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam).

Analytical Skills:

Strong analytical abilities for cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management.

Attention to Detail:

Precision in measurement, documentation, and reporting.

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, contractors, and team members.

Negotiation:

Effective negotiation skills for procurement and contract management.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
