Job Overview

: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) within the construction industry. This role requires a blend of cost management expertise with a thorough understanding of quality control processes, ensuring that all construction activities meet the required specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

:

Cost Estimation & Budgeting

: Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for projects, ensuring that all financial forecasts align with quality control measures and project requirements.

QA/QC Management

: Develop and implement QA/QC procedures for construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

Quality Inspections & Audits

: Oversee regular inspections and audits of materials, workmanship, and subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards and contractual specifications.

Tendering & Procurement

: Manage the preparation of tender documents with a focus on quality specifications and cost control. Ensure that the tendering process includes QA/QC criteria and monitor the selection of qualified subcontractors and suppliers.

Contract Management

: Administer construction contracts with a strong focus on both cost control and quality management. Oversee the management of variations, claims, and disputes related to quality and budget.

Cost Control & Monitoring

: Track and control project costs in conjunction with QA/QC requirements, ensuring that the budget remains on target while meeting quality standards. Provide regular financial updates and report on any discrepancies.

Risk Management & Mitigation

: Identify potential risks related to cost and quality, providing solutions to mitigate issues before they affect the project timeline, quality, or budget.

Change Management

: Monitor and document any changes in project scope, ensuring that these changes are evaluated from both a cost and quality perspective and managed accordingly.

Project Coordination

: Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that both quality and cost objectives are being met.

Reporting & Documentation

: Prepare detailed QA/QC reports, progress reports, and cost-related documentation, highlighting any issues related to quality, budget, or schedule delays.

Training & Mentoring

: Provide guidance and mentoring to junior quantity surveyors and QA/QC team members to enhance their understanding of both cost management and quality assurance procedures.

Client Liaison

: Act as the key point of contact for clients on matters related to quality assurance and cost control. Ensure that client expectations regarding quality and cost are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Final Account Preparation

: Finalize the project accounts by ensuring all quality-related claims and variations are addressed. Ensure final submissions are accurate and complete, including cost and quality records.

Qualifications

:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Chartered status (MRICS, RICS, or equivalent) is preferred.

10 years of experience in the civil field/ substation works/ precast

Proven experience in both cost management and the implementation of QA/QC procedures on construction projects. In-depth knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC, FIDIC) and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001). Familiarity with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, CostX, Aconex) is an advantage. Strong technical understanding of construction processes and materials. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to balance cost control and quality assurance within project requirements.
