PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:To support our ongoing projects and growth, we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in marine construction who will be delivering high-quality, innovative solutions for complex waterfront and underwater projectsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct cost planning, estimation, and analysis for marine construction projects, ensuring competitive and accurate budgeting.
Measure and value the work done on site, liaising with project managers and site engineers to ensure project costs are aligned with budgets.
Prepare, negotiate, and analyze costs for tenders and contracts.
Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes, working closely with legal teams as required.
Assess and recommend payment to contractors, ensuring compliance with contract terms and project specifications.
Monitor project expenses, implementing cost control measures to keep expenditure within the budget.
Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure project feasibility and cost-efficiency from the outset.
Prepare detailed project reports, highlighting variances from the budget and recommending corrective actions.
Stay updated with the latest trends, regulations, and technologies in marine construction and cost management.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with at least 8 years in marine construction or related projects.
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and project management principles specific to marine environments.
Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS) is considered an asset.
Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
