will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, quotations, and pricing for fit-out and joinery projects. This role requires a deep understanding of the local market, along with excellent analytical and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate should have experience managing the estimation process from tender stage to project completion while ensuring that all costs are controlled and aligned with project budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation & Tendering:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for fit-out and joinery projects, including labor, materials, and overheads.
Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to provide accurate and competitive cost estimates.
Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine the required resources and quantities for accurate pricing.
Submit cost proposals for tenders and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients as required.
Budget Control & Cost Management:
Assist in developing project budgets and ensure cost control measures are in place to avoid cost overruns.
Monitor and track project costs and variations during the execution of the project.
Provide accurate and timely cost reports to the project manager and senior management.
Advise project teams on cost-effective solutions and value engineering options.
Site Measurements & Quantity Takeoffs:
Conduct site visits for measurements and gather information to calculate quantities for materials, labor, and other resources required.
Review site conditions and ensure accurate quantities are recorded in the estimation process.
Vendor & Subcontractor Management:
Obtain quotes from vendors and subcontractors for material supply, labor, and specialized services.
Evaluate and compare bids, ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient solutions are selected.
Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure quality, timelines, and cost-effectiveness.
Project Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and contracts.
Provide regular reports on cost estimates, variations, and project budgets to senior management.
Ensure that all tender documents and associated paperwork are organized and updated.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with project managers, design teams, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
Provide clear and concise communication of project costs to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in resolving disputes regarding costs, variations, or scope of work.
Qualifications & Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a QS Estimator within the UAE, specifically in fit-out or joinery projects.
Strong knowledge of the UAE construction market, including local suppliers, subcontractors, and cost trends.
Proficient in cost estimation software and MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations in the UAE.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
