Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Ensure all aspects of the project have been included
• Analyses drawings, and prepares BOQ with specifications.
• Prepare the estimation with a detailed break up possibly using estimation models and tools.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to get the price for various elements within the project
• Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
• Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
• Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data
• Understanding drawings and joinery technical issues
• Visiting sites to gather information needed.
• Collaborate with the procurement team to obtain competitive prices for materials and equipment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with min of 8-10 years' experience in a construction related field (contractor, developer) or in a similar role.
• Experience in the construction industry, preferably in commercial or residential projects.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel).
• A familiarity with typical project controls software such as Primavera scheduling software, Estimate/Schedule Transfer tools, Contract Manager, and DMCS (Document and Materials Control System) is preferred.
• Membership in a relevant professional organization is a plus (e.g., RICS).
