:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the cost and financial control of construction projects from inception to completion.
The role requires a strong understanding of construction contracts, cost estimating, and financial management. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that projects are completed within budget and in accordance with the quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including material costs, labor costs, and other expenses.
- Contract Administration: Review and analyze contract documents, variations, and costs.
- Procurement Management: Assist in selecting and managing contractors, suppliers, and vendors, and negotiate pricing and terms to achieve cost savings.
- Tendering Process: Prepare tender documents, manage the tender process, and assess bids to ensure the best value is achieved for the project.
- Cost Control: Monitor project costs, track expenditures, and prepare reports on cost performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Value Engineering: Recommend cost-effective solutions and value engineering options without compromising the quality and functionality of the project.
- Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and suggest mitigation measures.
- Reconciliation of Payments: Review and reconcile payment applications submitted by contractors and ensure payments are in line with the agreed contract terms.
- Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports for management and clients regarding project financial status, including cost forecasts, change orders, and final account settlements.
Site Visits: Attend site visits to inspect the progress of construction works and ensure the work is being completed in accordance with the approved budget.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in the UAE.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost management techniques.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, tendering processes, and cost reporting.
- Proficiency in using Quantity Surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- UAE Driving License (Preferred but not required).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with local UAE construction standards and regulations.
- Knowledge of software such as Procore, CostX, or similar tools.
- Strong background in both commercial and residential projects.
