Job Description

ob Title: Quantity SurveyorResponsibilities:

• Cost Planning and Control:
• Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects based on initial project plans and specifications.
• Monitor and control project costs to ensure that expenditures remain within the approved budget.
• Conduct cost analysis and value management to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Procurement:
• Prepare tender documents, including bills of quantities.
• Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors, ensuring they comply with the project requirements and budget constraints.
• Negotiate and award contracts to successful bidders.
• Contract Administration:
• Administer contracts and manage the contractual relationships between the client, contractor, and subcontractors.
• Assess and value variations to the contract, ensuring that any changes are fairly priced and agreed upon.
• Prepare and submit claims for additional payment if changes to the contract occur.
• Risk Management:
• Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks related to costs, contracts, and procurement.
• Advise on the most appropriate contract forms to minimize risk exposure.
• Client Relations:
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations.
• Provide regular progress reports and financial updates to clients and project managers.
• Dispute Resolution:
• Assist in resolving disputes that may arise during the construction process, particularly related to costs and contracts.
• Provide expert witness testimony in legal proceedings, if required.
• Quality and Compliance:
• Ensure that construction works comply with contractual requirements, specifications, and regulations.
• Monitor and report on quality standards and workmanship throughout the project lifecycle.
• Project Team Collaboration:
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals involved in the project to ensure smooth execution and delivery.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute expertise on cost-related matters.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional accreditation or membership with relevant institutions (e.g., RICS, AIQS) is often preferred.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and cost control.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Excel) and familiarity with industry-standard methods of measurement (e.g., SMM7, CESMM).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
