• Experience : Generally, 5-10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with specific experience in post-contract roles.
• Industry Knowledge : Extensive understanding of the construction industry, including knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal requirements.
Technical Skills:
• Cost Management : Proficiency in cost planning, control, and management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contract Administration : Knowledge of contract law and administration, including familiarity with standard forms of contracts
• Software Proficiency : Experience with quantity surveying software and tools and project management software like MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Measurement and Valuation : Strong skills in measurement, valuation, and preparation of bills of quantities.

Job Responsibilities:
• Cost Control and Monitoring : Monitor and control project costs to ensure they remain within budget. Track changes to the design and construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
• Valuations and Payments : Prepare valuations for interim payment certificates and final accounts. Ensure timely payment of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Variation Management : Manage variations to the contract, assessing cost implications and negotiating with contractors and clients.
• Financial Reporting : Prepare detailed financial reports, including cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and cost-to-complete reports.
• Contract Administration : Administer post-contract duties such as contract reviews, claims management, and dispute resolution.
• Risk Management : Identify and manage financial risks associated with the project, including potential cost overruns and delays.
• Procurement : Oversee the procurement process for subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring value for money and compliance with contractual terms.
