Job Description

As part of the Quality Control function, being responsible to oversee all aspects related to quality within the Operations section of the Company. Key Deliverables: 24/7 quality control of OCI, analysis and services as per quality plan, specifications and QC work instruction to ensure raw/packing materials, finished products of OCI to meet quality specifications. Monitor and Improve lab quality and efficiency. Ensure sound and efficient functioning of the test laboratories according to company regulations and relevant standards. Ensure all personnel within the department follow the safety policy, confidential policy and other work-related policies of the company. Ensure all cables manufactured are tested strictly according to the OCIs, clients, national and international specifications, and ensure they are fully compliant before dispatch from the Company premises. You will be responsible to provide technical support to customer complaints forwarded from the Customer Support Service department and ensure it is addressed and rectified in a time bound manner. Ensure all third-party inspections of the finished goods are scheduled and carried out successfully in conjunction with the Customer Support Service department. Ensure all lab equipment are functioning properly and are duly serviced and calibrated according to relevant standards. You will be responsible to prepare the site visit report during inspection at client site and troubleshoot to locate faults and rectify them, if any. Ensure that the daily reports and results are as per the given product specification and develop trend analysis of quality data. Develop, Update and continually review all tests and procedures. Make sure Engineers, Supervisors and Inspectors follow industry standards and safety regulations for handling test samples. Mentor and discipline lab staff. Overtime control / running cost control and housekeeping of the department. Plan schedule & delegate duties to lab personnel in coordination with QC Assistant Managers and QC Engineers. Evaluate lab needs for personnel and equipment in coordination with QC assistant managers and QC engineers. Troubleshoot minor equipment failures and inconsistent analytical results in coordination with QC assistant managers and QC engineers. Coordinate with the COO in product development and formulation to ensure quality of product within optimum costs. Must ensure that all information and data collected in the lab is kept safe and accessible only to authorized personnel. Daily report writing of QC analysis, product non-conformance, statistical reports, competitor analysis and samples and product performance measurement to ensure conformance to quality, and to create data for further development work. Coordinate with COO in approval of labelling as per Omani and GCC laws. Keep abreast of international developments in cable manufacturing and testing and apply new technologies/innovation/best practices to continuously improve products including equipment calibration. Check machine efficiency, troubleshooting, maintenance. Implement, Monitor & Ensure compliance to integrated management systems (ISO) to improve internal process control, environmental management & Safety.

Job Profile: Qualifications: A graduate degree in Electrical engineering. (Mechanical engineer may also be considered). Certification in Total Quality Management courses is an added advantage. Experience: 15+ years of experience in cable manufacturing facility QC.

Skills/Knowledge: Customer satisfaction. Good understanding of cable manufacturing operation and technology. A hand on cable manufacturing analysis is must. Knowledge of different methods testing, international standards, Data management and reporting, Statistical techniques, Computer literacy especially MS-Office. Strong leadership quality with excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills. Knowledge of the properties of the materials especially metals, polymers, etc. Ability to perform under pressure. Ability to build strong, good relationship with internal peers and production team. Good problem-solving skill and quick decision making. Good presentation skills. Clear understanding about the ISO and HSE processes.

Business Understanding: Extensive understanding of the business operations. Good knowledge of cable industry. Good knowledge about cable manufacturing operations.
