To ensure our products meet the highest quality standards, we are seeking a meticulous Quality Controller to oversee production quality at every stage.

The Quality Controller will be responsible for ensuring that all furniture produced at Plumsheep meets strict quality standards. This role involves monitoring each phase of the production process, inspecting materials, and performing thorough checks on finished furniture to guarantee that all products comply with design specifications, company standards, and client expectations. A driver's licence is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Material Inspection: Evaluate incoming materials (e.g., wood, fabric, foam, and upholstery) to confirm they meet required specifications before entering production.
• Production Oversight: Monitor daily production activities, ensuring each item is constructed according to detailed design drawings and manufacturing protocols.
• Finished Product Testing: Inspect completed furniture for structural integrity, fabric quality, accurate upholstery work, and flawless finishing. Check dimensions, joints, and overall appearance.
• Defect Identification & Reporting: Identify defects such as incorrect stitching, improper alignment, or substandard finishing. Log issues and work with the production team to resolve them promptly.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate inspection reports for every stage of production, recording product quality, any issues identified, and corrective actions taken.
• Process Improvement: Suggest improvements to the production process to reduce defects and improve overall product quality and efficiency.
• Final Quality Assurance: Perform final checks on all products before packaging and shipping to ensure they are free from defects and meet customer specifications.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quality Controller, preferably in furniture manufacturing, with specific knowledge of upholstered furniture production.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of furniture materials, construction methods, and upholstery techniques. Familiarity with furniture quality standards and testing methods.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to identify small defects, including imperfections in stitching, alignment, and finishing.
• Problem-Solving: Proven ability to analyze quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with production staff to enforce quality standards and resolve issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a high-end or bespoke furniture manufacturing environment.
• Certification in Quality Control or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of ISO or other relevant quality standards for the furniture industry.
